Vaughn Gray – Bio

As a health and life coach and seminar leader, my passion is the potential and meaning in human life.

Our lives today are crazy, and our health and happiness (or rather, lack thereof) reflect the insanity. It’s tragic, but no one teaches us the most basic things we need to know to thrive in life. For instance:

  • How is the human body designed to eat? What nutrient combinations does it run off of best?
  • How does the brain actually learn?
  • How do emotions really work? Why do we get stressed or sad, and what can we do about it?

This is just the beginning. All of us want to be healthy, be happy, and live a life that means something, but for the most part we aren’t taught what we need to know to do this.

This is my real passion. My motto says it all – “Health, Happiness, and Life made simple”. I’ve been studying this question for 16 years – first as a biology and philosophy major at Amherst College in Massachusets and an NIH Howard Hughes research intern. Then as a Rhodes Scholar studying Human Science at Oxford, then as a Med student at Cornell med school. (I left after 2 years).  I am certified as a health coach and holistic nutrition counselor  through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and as a personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports medicine. I’ve trained and counseled professionally for years. I’ve also done a great deal of study with Landmark Education, A Course in Miracles,  and other transformational teachings.

I’ve worn a lot of hats and looked at the question “What are we (we humans), and how do we live best” from a lot of different angles. I’ve been fabulously healthy and fit and very sick,  and I’ve managed to heal. I’ve battled crushing anxiety and manic depression and put it behind me forever. I’ve helped many clients take the same journey. I’ve faced the things I didn’t like about myself and the peopel I hurt and wronged and learned to forgive myself and grow. And through it all I’ve learned a lot about how to be healthy, happy, and make life simple. Not everything…. but a lot.

I offer 1 on 1 coaching programs and coaching programs for couples, as well as online video classes and teleseminars covering a wide range of topics (please visit my “coaching” and “seminars” pages for more).

In addition to this site, I’ve founded www.intrawellness.com to help people find the right dietary supplements and www.reevolution.com (coming soon) as a forum for everyone who’s interested to discuss ideas about nutrition, human health, evolution, physics, consciousness, spirituality, the future of humanity, and how all of this ties together.

At the end of the day I want all of us to live brilliant lives no matter what challenges we face or what we’ve done or had done to us in the past. Making this a reality for any given person takes a lot of education and a lot of heart, and I make it my job to provide all the tools and support I can for everyone’s journey to self discovery and a healthier, richer life.

I live in Arlington Virginia with my wife, Whitney, and close to my parents, Carol and Tom. I make it to the beach when I can, play basketball and poker for fun when I can (visit www.meetup.com/arlington-poker to join me for a low stakes game!), and really just love this work.
